Nigel Farage is set to make a “key announcement” at a Reform UK press conference this morning.

The Reform leader will unveil the announcement at an event in Westminster at 11am.

In a post on X, he said: “I will make a key announcement live at 11am. Don’t miss it.”

It comes as Keir Starmer was warned he has just eight months left to turn things around or be out of a job. Three MPs have now publicly earmarked next May’s major local and devolved elections as the crunch point for the Prime Minister, with polls suggesting Labour will be given a massive kicking by voters.

Elsewhere today, the first flight carrying migrants will depart the UK. The Air France passenger jet will see deported Channel migrants sit side by side with paying customers as part of the new one-in-one-out UK-France deal.

Farage admits breach of Commons rules in ‘error’

Nigel Farage has confessed that he failed to register a trip to a Donald Trump Florida fundraiser in his register of MP interests.

Mr Farage said: “Unfortunately, these submissions were not added to the register. This was an error … A correction to the record will be made tomorrow along with an apology to the registrar.”

What will today’s press conference be about?

Reform is remaining tight-lipped about today’s presser, merely saying that Nigel Farage is speaking – though that doesn’t rule out him being accompanied by someone.

Whatever Mr Farage says we can guarantee the Q&A session afterwards will be illuminating.

Expect questions about the weekend’s Tommy Robinson rally, which saw a couple dozen protesters arrested; Elon Musk’s comments at the rally; and further tax questions about the purchasing of a house in Clacton.

It will undoubtedly be a fun watch…
