Liberation of Auschwitz, the Nazi concentration camp where more than a million people were killed

On January 27, 1945, Soviet troops liberated the Auschwitz concentration camp and the 7,000 starving people trapped there. They then discovered macabre warehouses filled with the personal belongings of countless dead prisoners.
