Starmer Takes Aim at Farage: ‘I Wouldn’t Listen to Him on Brexit’. From NHS cash to border control, the Prime Minister says Farage’s Brexit claims collapsed under reality. With Reform UK rising in the polls, this blunt dismissal signals Labour is ready to fight the Brexit battle again and win back voters who feel misled.

Sir Keir Starmer has said Nigel Farage was wrong about Brexit and said the “botched deal” created by the previous government “has caused damage to our economy”.
Speaking to reporters on his way to Japan on Saturday, the prime minister responded to questions over Brexit continuing to be a dividing line for voters and whether he was trying to woo voters away from Reform UK.
“As far as Nigel Farage is concerned, let us remind ourselves that he said if we left the EU it would be £350 million a week for the NHS – that didn’t happen.
“He said if we left the EU there would be less red tape for trading into Europe – try telling that to any business that is trading into Europe.
“He said if we left the EU regular migration would go down – it quadrupled under the Boris wave.
“So I wouldn’t listen too much to what Nigel Farage has to say about this,” he concluded.
The prime minister has previously said that “wild promises” were made to British people on Brexit and they were “not fulfilled”.
The comments come as Starmer has been working to create a closer relationship between the UK and the EU.
In May 2025 he agreed to a “win-win” deal, branded as a post-Brexit “reset”, that sought to cut red tape for travellers and businesses while boosting the UK economy by £9 billion by 2040.
The deal included agreements on fishing, food and drink exports, security and defence, passport e-gates and youth mobility.
