GB News: Dawn Neesom discusses criticism of Rayner
A GB News guest has slammed the deputy prime minister in a scathing takedown after it was revealed that she has purchased a seaside apartment on the south coast of England for more than £700,000. Dawn Neesom slammed Angela Rayner after it came to light that she bought the three-bedroom flat near Brighton earlier this year, meaning she now has three properties. Angela already has a home in her constituency in Ashton-under-Lyne, which she bought in 2016 for £375,000, as well as having her ministerial apartment in Admiralty House in Westminster. The Deputy Prime Minister is now facing questions and is accused of “hypocrisy” for purchasing a new flat when her government is tackling second properties.
On GB News, Dawn said: “On the surface, I don’t have a problem with someone buying a holiday home for herself. It is just the question of where she is going to pay that council tax, so there are questions to be asked there.”

She added: “The London flat is a grace-and-favour flat, so she didn’t buy that. But it’s not a good look considering what the government is going to do to middle-class homeowners in the autumn.”
Elsewhere, Shadow housing secretary James Cleverly has argued: “Angela Rayner is responsible for housing policy, yet she won’t even be straight about her own.
“Time and again she’s been asked to declare exactly what properties she owns and where she pays council tax, and time and again she has dodged those questions.
“Now we find out she’s got three homes. We’ve done everything possible to get answers, but she still refuses to come clean. That matters, because this is the same Deputy Prime Minister who has hiked taxes on family homes across the country.
“If she’s not prepared to be open about her own affairs while taxing everyone else heavily, the public will wonder what she has to hide.”
